Two Children Shot, 12-Year-Old Child Killed At A Home In Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department is conducting an investigation on the 2600 block of E 111th Ave.

According to police, on Sunday, just before 2 PM, officers were called to a residence for a reported shooting. Once on scene, they located one victim, 12, deceased inside the home with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

A second shooting victim, 14, was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for a wound to the upper body and is currently in stable condition.

The juveniles, who do not live at the residence, were inside the home with additional juveniles when the shooting occurred.

“While the investigation is very preliminary, the shooting does not appear to be random,” said Tampa Police Depart PIO Crystal Clark.

Detectives are currently interviewing individuals who were present at the time and an adult guardian who lives at the residence, who was not present during the incident.
