MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Two separate incidents on Wednesday resulted in citations for anglers possessing undersized mutton snapper in the Florida Keys.

The first incident occurred around 1 p.m. near Mile Marker 73, where Juan Manuel Orozco Gonzalez, 62, of Miami Gardens, was cited for possessing two mutton snapper below the legal size limit.

Later in the day, around 5:16 p.m., Luis Guillermo Rodriguez Tabares, 63, of Hialeah, was also cited near Mile Marker 65 for possessing three undersized mutton snapper.

Both men were issued mandatory notices to appear in court.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) regulations dictate size limits for various fish species to protect their populations and ensure sustainable fishing practices. Anglers are responsible for knowing and abiding by these regulations.
