Twitter has reportedly canceled a deal for the anniversary premiere of ‘What Is A Woman’ due to ‘misgendering,’ according to Jeremy Boreing of The Daily Wire.
Co-CEO Jeremy Boreing of The Daily Wire said, “One year ago today, we released What is a Woman? To celebrate the occasion and expand the movie’s already enormous impact, we decided to give it away for free for 24 hours on Twitter.”
“With Twitter’s recent commitments to free speech, we thought it would be the perfect place to distribute the film and drive the conversation forward on one of the most important topics of our day,” said Boreing.

According to The Daily Wire, they sought a deal to stream Matt Walsh’s “What is a Woman?” on Twitter for the documentary’s one-year anniversary.
The DW reported that initially, Twitter responded enthusiastically to the idea, offering The Daily Wire a package to purchase a whole page for Twitter users to view the film, but that changed after the platform asked to view a screening of the film.
“After reviewing the film, though, Twitter let us know that not only could we no longer purchase the package they offered, they would no longer provide us any support and would actually limit the reach of the film and label it as ‘hateful conduct’ because of ‘misgendering.’” Boreing said in a Tweet thread explaining Twitter’s reversal.
“Specifically: In the film, a father refers to his 14-year-old daughter as ‘her,’ and a store owner uses the ‘wrong’ pronoun in a confrontation with a transgender woman,” Boreing said.
“One of the many things that makes the suppression and censorship of “What Is A Woman” so ridiculous is that we simply provided a forum for both sides to make their case. The fact that the trans side utterly humiliates itself is their fault, not ours. We let them speak,” said Matt Walsh on Twitter.

According to Twitter Safety, the mission of Twitter 2.0 is to promote and protect the public conversation. We believe Twitter users have the right to express their opinions and ideas without fear of censorship.
“We also believe it is our responsibility to keep users on our platform safe from content violating our Rules. These beliefs are the foundation of Freedom of Speech, not Freedom of Reach – our enforcement philosophy which means, where appropriate, restricting the reach of Tweets that violate our policies by making the content less discoverable,” says Twitter regarding their policy.
Seth Dillon of the Babylon Bee chimed in Thursday on Twitter, saying, “In the interview we just released, Musk reaffirmed his commitment to free speech, saying there will be no compromise, even if it means lost revenue. He also said that Tucker Carlson’s main concern was the possibility of censorship. Elon assured Tucker that lawful speech would not be censored. Tucker only announced he’d be bringing his show to Twitter after getting that assurance. Seems like someone over there hasn’t gotten the free speech memo.”
The Daily Wire will still be screening What is a Woman? tonight, regardless of Twitter’s plans to throttle it, the outlet said.
