Twice-impeached former President Donald Trump on Sunday encouraged congressional Republicans to get busy impeaching President Joe Biden for corruption, or risk fading into “oblivion.”
“The Republicans in Congress, though well meaning, keep talking about an Impeachment ‘Inquiry’ on Crooked Joe Biden,” Trump said on Truth Social, his social media platform.
“Look, the guy got bribed, he paid people off, and he wouldn’t give One Billion Dollars to Ukraine unless they ‘got rid of the Prosecutor.’ Biden is a Stone Cold Crook-You don’t need a long INQUIRY to prove it, it’s already proven.”

“These lowlifes Impeached me TWICE (I WON!), and Indicted me FOUR TIMES – For NOTHING! Either IMPEACH the BUM, or fade into OBLIVION. THEY DID IT TO US!”
Trump’s post, in the wake of his recent fourth indictment last week involving nearly 100 alleged crimes in both state and federal court, appears to ramp up the pressure on House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
Some House Republicans are also getting antsy with their own leadership.
As the Tampa Free Press reported recently, GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz has warned that Republicans will look “unserious” to the American public if they retreat from an impeachment effort. Rep. Greg Steube also has called for the GOP to go forward, saying the evidence exists and impeachment can be methodically pursued without making a “mockery” of it as Democrats did with Trump.
On Sunday, McCarthy told Fox News that, based on the available evidence uncovered so far, “it is a natural step forward that you would have to go to an impeachment inquiry.”
Yet McCarthy also has not set a timeframe for commencing that process or taking a vote on proceeding.

The effort to impeach Biden also took on new urgency after former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin told Fox News Saturday that he believed both President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden were bribed to oust him.
“I have said repeatedly in my previous interviews that [then-Ukrainian President Petro] Poroshenko fired me at the insistence of the then-Vice President Biden because I was investigating Burisma,” Shokin told Fox News, according to Breitbart News.
“This is how it was,” he continued. “There were no complaints whatsoever and no problems with how I was performing at my job. But because pressure was repeatedly put on Poroshenko, that is what ended up in him firing me.”
“I do not want to deal in unproven facts, but my firm personal conviction is that, yes, this was the case,” Shokin said. “They were being bribed. And the fact that Joe Biden gave away $1 billion in U.S. money in exchange for my dismissal, my firing — isn’t that alone a case of corruption?”

Burisma was the Ukrainian energy company that hired Hunter Biden to its board for $50,000 a month, despite the fact that Hunter had zero experience in the energy industry. Evidence of Hunter’s deals has revealed that Joe Biden discussed matters with Burisma executives multiple times while serving as vice president, which undermined Biden’s claims that he knew nothing of his son’s deals.
As the Tampa Free Press has reported, Biden publicly bragged about Shokin’s 2016 firing at a Council of Foreign Relations event in 2018.
“I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,” Biden recounted for the CFR, referring to a $1 billion aid package the U.S. was providing its Eastern European ally.
“Well, son of a bitch. He got fired,” said Biden.
