The Trump administration has ignited a new era of American resource independence, announcing the rapid advancement of critical mineral production projects aimed at slashing foreign reliance and fueling domestic prosperity.
In a move hailed by industry leaders and decried by environmental groups, the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council (Permitting Council) unveiled the first wave of projects slated for expedited review, fulfilling President Trump’s executive order, “Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production.”

“This is a watershed moment for American industry,” said Manisha Patel, Acting Executive Director at the Permitting Council. “By leveraging the Federal Permitting Dashboard, we’re bringing unprecedented transparency and efficiency to the process, ensuring these vital projects move forward without unnecessary delays. President Trump’s vision of American mineral dominance is becoming a reality.”
The projects, handpicked by the National Energy Dominance Council (NEDC), will be tracked on the public-facing Permitting Dashboard, allowing stakeholders to monitor progress and hold agencies accountable.
This transparency, officials say, will streamline the review process and accelerate production.
