President Donald Trump heralded the “dawn of the Golden Age of America” in a Joint Address to Congress Tuesday night, spotlighting his whirlwind 43 days in office with excerpts released earlier by the White House.
Claiming more achievements than most administrations manage in years, Trump touted a border crackdown, economic rescue, and global peace push—backed by nearly 100 executive orders and over 400 actions—while pressing Congress for funding to cement his agenda.
“America’s MOMENTUM is back. Our SPIRIT is back. Our PRIDE is back,” Trump declared, citing a 27-point swing in public optimism since Election Day—more Americans now see the country on the right track than not, a modern first—and a record 41-point surge in small business confidence. He framed his tenure as a historic pivot, with border crossings down 94% from last year (CBP data), illegal immigrant arrests up 627%, and energy prices targeted for relief via a National Energy Emergency declared on day one.

Trump blasted Biden’s “economic catastrophe,” spotlighting “the worst inflation in 48 years” and egg prices run amok, vowing to “Make America AFFORDABLE Again” with projects like an Alaska gas pipeline—touted as a trillion-dollar global partnership—and expanded mineral production set for later this week.
On trade, he doubled down, “Whatever they tariff us, we tariff them,” a nod to Tuesday’s 25% levies on Canada and Mexico, plus a 20% China hike, which sparked Canada’s $155 billion retaliation and Mexico’s looming counterstrike.
Border security dominated the address. “The media and Democrats kept saying we needed new LEGISLATION … but it turned out all we really needed was a new PRESIDENT,” Trump quipped, citing a record-low illegal influx and cartel operatives “genuinely fearful” amid actions like ending catch-and-release, restarting the border wall, and designating Tren de Aragua and MS-13 as terrorist groups.

He pressed Congress for funds to outdo Eisenhower’s deportation record, spotlighting 50,000 removals and Mexico’s 10,000-troop deployment after tariff pressure.
Globally, Trump pitched peace through strength—11 hostages freed, Ukraine talks with Putin and Zelensky, and Iran sanctions—while domestically, he touted axing DEI, banning vaccine mandates, and declassifying JFK and MLK files.

“We inherited chaos … I am fighting every day to reverse this damage,” he said, weaving in wins like $2 trillion in U.S. investments from Apple, TSMC, and others, plus a government slim-down via DOGE, which he claimed saved billions.
As tariffs roiled markets—the Dow dipped 2% Monday—and Democrats braced to counter his spending freeze, Trump’s address aimed to lock in his base and pressure Congress.
