Trump Says Zelenskyy “Played Biden Like A Fiddle” As U.S. Officials Announce Negotiations With Russia

In a series of pointed remarks, President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, claiming that the leader “talked the United States into spending $350 billion” on a war that, according to Trump, “could never be won.”

Trump contended that half of the money sent to Ukraine is “MISSING” and accused Zelenskyy of failing to hold elections, labeling him a “dictator without elections” whose only skill is “playing Biden like a fiddle.” Trump warned that Zelenskyy must act quickly to salvage his country or risk its further deterioration.

“Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and “TRUMP,” will never be able to settle,” said Trump. “The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation.”

“On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A dictator without elections means Zelenskyy had better move fast, or he would not have a country left. In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do,” Trump said. “Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues…..”

Trump’s remarks come amid a broader diplomatic effort. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff announced Tuesday that the United States and Russia have agreed to begin high-level talks aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine.

The negotiations, hosted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during a meeting in Riyadh, mark a significant step following a historic phone call between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During the press conference, Secretary Rubio outlined four key principles agreed upon by both sides:

  • Restoration of Diplomatic Missions: Efforts will be made to reestablish fully functional diplomatic missions in Washington and Moscow.
  • High-Level Negotiations on Ukraine: Both countries will appoint senior teams to work on a lasting resolution to the conflict, including discussions on territorial disputes and security guarantees.
  • Geopolitical and Economic Cooperation: The talks will explore opportunities for broader cooperation that could emerge from a peaceful resolution.
  • Ongoing Engagement: Continued dialogue will ensure that the process remains productive and on track.

National Security Advisor Mike Waltz emphasized the urgency of ending the conflict, describing it as a “meat grinder” that has inflicted immense suffering. “President Trump has made it clear that an endless war in Europe is unacceptable,” Waltz said. While Waltz declined to discuss specifics about territorial negotiations, he acknowledged that such issues will be addressed in the upcoming talks.

Rubio repeatedly stressed that, in his view, only President Trump has the capacity to bring both sides to the negotiation table, noting that Trump’s efforts to broker peace are “delivering on his promise” to end the war. He also addressed concerns from European allies, assuring them that the U.S. is consulting regularly with its partners. “No one is being sidelined,” Rubio said. “But President Trump is the only leader who can bring both sides together.”

As U.S. officials continue to work towards a resolution, Trump’s scathing commentary on President Zelenskyy underscores the sharp divisions over the management of the Ukraine conflict. With negotiations now underway, the coming weeks will reveal whether this high-level dialogue can pave the way for a durable peace in a region long troubled by war.
