President Donald Trump’s job approval rating stands at 52%, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports Daily Presidential Tracking Poll, released Friday. The survey found that 46% of likely U.S. voters disapprove of the president’s performance.

The poll, based on a rolling five-day average of responses from 1,500 likely voters, also shows a notable split in voter intensity:

  • 38% strongly approve of Trump’s performance
  • 38% strongly disapprove

That parity in strong sentiment gives Trump a Presidential Approval Index rating of 0, calculated by subtracting strong disapproval from strong approval.

The results come as Trump enters the third month of his second term, facing both domestic policy battles—including immigration reform and government restructuring—and ongoing international tensions in the Middle East.

Rasmussen, a firm known for its consistent daily tracking of presidential approval, is currently the only nationally recognized pollster publishing Trump’s job performance numbers on a daily basis. The firm notes that variations in approval trends often stem from how questions are asked and who is being surveyed.

Trump’s approval rating has hovered between 50% and 54% since mid-February, according to Rasmussen’s data. On February 12, for example, total approval was recorded at 53%, suggesting a relatively stable base of support as the president advances his policy agenda.

While other national polls have at times shown greater fluctuation in public sentiment, Rasmussen’s automated and online polling model provides a consistent measurement of voter attitudes over time.

The Rasmussen Reports daily tracking poll is conducted using a mix of automated phone calls and online surveys, ensuring representation of voters who no longer use landline telephones. Each day, approximately 300 likely voters are interviewed, and results are reported as a five-day rolling average to minimize daily volatility.

The poll’s margin of error is ±2.5 percentage points with a 95% confidence level.

With the 2026 midterm elections approaching and policy battles heating up, Trump’s approval rating will remain a key metric to watch, especially among independent voters and in battleground states.
