After he was first elected in 2016, former President Donald Trump received a warning from Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer.
Noting Trump’s willingness to challenge the bureaucracy, Schumer told NBC News in an interview, “Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”
Schumer proved correct.

The Intelligence Community and the Justice Department, including the FBI, struck back at Trump with multiple plans to upend his presidency — such as engineering the long-running Russia-collusion hoax, willfully misleading people with the interpretation of Trump’s “perfect” phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and smothering the Hunter Biden laptop story.
Trump, however, is not backing down from a new fight.
With polls showing him tied with President Joe Biden and Democrats fretting over his growing popularity despite being indicted four different times, Trump on Sunday offered a warning to the “deep state.”
“The Crooked Joe Biden Campaign has thrown so many Indictments and lawsuits against me that Republicans are already thinking about what we are going to do to Biden and the Communists when it’s our turn,” Trump said on Truth Social, his own social media platform.

“They have started a whole new Banana Republic way of thinking about political campaigns. So cheap and dirty, but that’s where America is right now. Be careful what you wish for.”
That final comment may have been a reference to the thinking of many liberals: that they actually want Trump as the GOP nominee because they believe Biden can defeat him again.
