Trump Fires Back At New York AG James “Another Witch Hunt”

Following the announcement of a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against former President Donald Trump, three of his adult children, and his company over widespread fraud claims, former President Donald Trump fired back.

Following the announcement of a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against former President Donald Trump, three of his adult children, and his company over widespread fraud claims, former President Donald Trump fired back.

Taking to Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump called the lawsuit another “witch hunt” slamming James.

“Another Witch Hunt by a racist Attorney General, Letitia James, who failed in her run for Governor, getting almost zero support from the public, and now is doing poorly against Law & Order A.G. candidate, highly respected Michael Henry,” said Trump on Truth Social. “I never thought this case would be brought – until I saw her really bad poll numbers. She is a fraud who campaigned on a “get Trump” platform, despite the fact that the city is one of the crime and murder disasters of the world under her watch!”

“Attorney General Letitia “Peekaboo” James, a total crime fighting disaster in New York, is spending all of her time fighting for very powerful and well-represented banks and insurance companies, who were fully paid, made a lot of money, and never had a complaint about me, instead of fighting murder and violent crime, which is killing New York State. She is a failed A.G. whose lack of talent in the fight against crime is causing record numbers of people and companies to flee New York. Bye, bye,” Trump added on Wednesday.

“The New York Times: “Her (Peekaboo James) case against him could be difficult to prove. Property valuations are often subjective, and the financial statements include a (very strong) disclaimer.” Thank you,” said Trump.

Following the announcement of a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against former President Donald Trump, three of his adult children, and his company over widespread fraud claims, former President Donald Trump fired back.

James’ office was investigating the company for possibly fraudulently misstating the value of various real estate assets to receive financial benefits in the form of more favorable loan and insurance rates, and tax breaks.

“Donald Trump falsely inflated, his net worth by billions of dollars to one justly enriched himself and to cheat the system. Thereby cheating, all of us. He did this with the help of the other defendants His children,” said James on Wednesday.

James said that Trump violated several state criminal laws, including falsifying business records, issuing false financial statements, insurance fraud, and engaging in a conspiracy to commit each of these state law violations.

“We are asking the court to, among other things, permanently bar, Mr.Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka, Trump, and Eric Trump, from serving as an officer, or a director and any corporation or similar entity registered and/or licensed in New York. To bar Mr.Trump and the Trump organization from entering into any New York State commercial real estate acquisition or from applying for loans from any financial institution in New York for five years and to pay for the financial benefits obtained.”

Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and accused James of being motivated by politics to investigate the former Republican president.

In August, Trump appeared for a deposition conducted by James’s lawyers.

He invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 440 times in refusing to answer questions under oath.

“Attorney General Letitia James openly campaigned on the policy of “Get and Destroy Trump.” This political attack on me, my family, and my great company is her despicable attempt to fulfill that cynical, and very corrupt promise. James developed a political platform and made a career out of maliciously attacking me and my business before she was even elected, or reviewed one of the millions of pages of documents we willingly produced,” Trump said in August.

“She proclaimed, “I look forward to going into the Office of Attorney General every day, suing him. . . and then going home!” She announced, “what is fueling my soul right now is Trump”, and that she had her “eyes on Trump Tower,” Trump added.

Donald Trump Jr., who runs the Trump Organization with his brother Eric, answered questions from the investigators under oath earlier in August, as did their sister Ivanka Trump.

Ivanka previously was an executive at the Trump Organization.

Eric Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment right more than 500 times when he was questioned under oath in the probe in October 2020, according to a court filing in January.
