President Donald Trump has called for the reversal of several Biden-era green energy regulations targeting household appliances. This is the latest effort by the Trump-Vance administration to dismantle the previous administration’s environmental policies.
Earlier this week, Trump announced via a post on Truth Social that he had directed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Secretary Lee Zeldin to begin rolling back water efficiency standards for household appliances, including sinks, dishwashers, showers, and washing machines.
The move is part of Trump’s broader push to overturn what he describes as “burdensome” regulations enacted under President Joe Biden’s climate agenda.

“I am hereby instructing Secretary Lee Zeldin to immediately go back to my Environmental Orders, which were terminated by Crooked Joe Biden, on Water Standards and Flow pertaining to SINKS, SHOWERS, TOILETS, WASHING MACHINES, DISHWASHERS, etc., and to likewise go back to the common sense standards on LIGHTBULBS, that were put in place by the Trump Administration, but terminated by Crooked Joe. I look forward to signing these Orders. THANK YOU!!!” Trump posted.
During his presidency, Biden introduced a series of green energy regulations aimed at combating climate change, including stricter energy efficiency standards for household appliances such as dishwashers, gas stoves, light bulbs, and water heaters.
These measures were part of Biden’s broader climate agenda, which sought to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable energy use.
Since returning to the White House on January 20, Trump has prioritized reversing Biden’s energy policies.
Among the administration’s actions are efforts to scrap the Biden-Harris administration’s stringent vehicle fuel economy standards and to halt funding for the electric vehicle charging network program.

On his first day back in office, Trump signed an executive order to boost domestic energy production, which he argued would lower energy costs and strengthen national security.
“In recent years, burdensome and ideologically motivated regulations have impeded the development of these resources, limited the generation of reliable and affordable electricity, reduced job creation, and inflicted high energy costs upon our citizens,” Trump stated in the executive order.
“These high energy costs devastate American consumers by driving up the cost of transportation, heating, utilities, farming, and manufacturing, while weakening our national security.”
