Trump focused his message on the economy, immigration, and crime, appealing to the conservative-leaning state. Meanwhile, Harris, who took over as the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden stepped down, has campaigned on expanding the care economy, safeguarding abortion rights, and protecting democracy, promising a “new era” in leadership.

Florida, historically a swing state, has increasingly leaned Republican. Trump carried the state in both the 2016 and 2020 elections, winning 49% to Hillary Clinton’s 48% in 2016 and 51% over Biden’s 48% in 2020.

The Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, endorsed Trump’s campaign, and Trump himself resides in Florida, adding to his strong ties within the state.
