Former President Donald Trump is calling for one of his MAGA army to challenge Republican Rep. Laurel Lee.
On Saturday, Trump posted his petition for an opponent for the Tampa-area congresswoman on his social media platform, Truth Social.
“Any great MAGA Republicans looking to run against Laurel Lee in Florida’s 15th Congressional District? IF SO, PLEASE STEP FORWARD!” Trump wrote.

Trump made the post just before midnight on Sunday. It was unclear what motivated it.
Lee was the only Florida lawmaker in Congress to endorse Gov. Ron DeSantis in the GOP presidential primary. She later switched to Trump after DeSantis dropped out.
Politico noted that Lee, when she served as Florida’s top elections official, refused to audit the state’s 2020 results as Trump claimed voter fraud everywhere. More recently, she supported the larded-up $1.2 trillion “minibus” spending plan that kept the federal government open.
Trump’s unexpected tirade against Lee led some GOP lawmakers to rally to her defense.

“This is unhelpful and unwarranted,” Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie posted on X on Monday.
“@RepLaurelLee is a conservative thoughtful member of the judiciary committee. She endorsed DeSantis for President but then endorsed Trump when DeSantis got out of the race. More of my colleagues should call out these ridiculous bullying tactics.”
