On Wednesday, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump announced their plans to hold two presidential debates in June and September. CNN will host the first debate on June 27 in Atlanta, Georgia.
However, their teams seem to be at odds over important specifics, such as the format of the presidential face-offs.
Following the Democratic candidate’s declaration that he would not participate in the fall presidential debates, which have been hosted by the nonpartisan commission for over thirty years, a swift agreement was reached over the schedule for the meeting.

Instead, Biden’s campaign suggested that media organizations arrange the debates with the likely Democratic and Republican nominees directly.
The first debate is scheduled for late June, and the second is scheduled for September, just before early voting starts.
Trump declared that he was “Ready and Willing to Debate” Biden at the suggested times in a post on his Truth Social site.
“Crooked Joe Biden is the WORST debater I have ever faced – He can’t put two sentences together! Crooked is also the WORST President in the history of the United States, by far. It’s time for a debate so that he can explain to the American People his highly destructive Open Border Policy, new and ridiculous EV Mandates, the allowance of Crushing Inflation, High Taxes, and his really WEAK Foreign Policy, which is allowing the World to “Catch on Fire,” said Trump on Truth Social.

“I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September. I would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a very large venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds – That’s only because he doesn’t get them. Just tell me when, I’ll be there. “Let’s get ready to Rumble!!!” said Trump.
Soon after, Biden announced that he had accepted CNN’s invitation to participate in a debate on June 27.
“Over to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, anytime, any place,” said Biden.
Trump told Fox News Digital he accepted the invitation: “I’ll be there,” he told the outlet.
According to a news release from CNN, the debate will be held in the network’s Atlanta studios with no audience present. Moderators for the debate and additional details will come at a later time, the announcement said.
