Tropical Depression Sara has weakened and is no longer a threat to develop into a tropical storm, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

Satellite imagery and surface observations confirm that Sara has degenerated into a trough of low pressure over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. While the storm itself has dissipated, the remnants of its moisture and circulation could still bring heavy rainfall to the northern Gulf Coast over the next few days.

The NHC has issued its final advisory on Sara. However, they advise residents along the Gulf Coast to monitor forecasts from the Weather Prediction Center and their local weather offices for updates on potential rainfall and flooding.
