PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A heart-wrenching incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon in a quiet Palm Harbor neighborhood, as a search for a missing 3-year-old boy ended in tragedy. Kyrie Larry, who was autistic and non-verbal, was found deceased in a nearby pond after wandering away from his home.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) responded to a call at 3843 Lancaster Court at approximately 4:25 p.m. on April 13, 2025, concerning a missing child. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Kyrie had left his residence without his parents’ knowledge.

According to authorities, Kyrie’s parents, Marcus Larry and Jasmine Torrence, both of whom are hearing impaired, believed their son was playing with his older brother inside the home. They did not hear him leave.

A comprehensive search operation was immediately launched, involving multiple PCSO units. The Flight Unit, K9 Unit, bloodhounds, and Marine Unit were deployed to scour the area. A crucial lead emerged when a nearby Ring doorbell camera captured footage of Kyrie near a pond, located roughly three buildings away from his home.

The PCSO Dive Team entered the pond to conduct a thorough search. Tragically, shortly after, they located Kyrie’s body.

“Anytime a child loses their life under circumstances like this, it’s a terrible night for everybody out here and I wish it was a better outcome,” expressed Chief Deputy Danzig, conveying the deep sorrow felt by all involved in the search and investigation.
