A search and rescue operation off the Florida coast has turned into a tragic recovery effort after a boat capsized, leaving one person dead and five others missing. The incident, which occurred approximately 29 miles off St. Lucie Inlet, prompted a response from the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) following a distress call from a good Samaritan.
According to information provided by a survivor, the boat capsized on Friday. USCG crews were able to rescue four individuals from the water. However, the search for the remaining passengers took a grim turn when one body was recovered. As of Monday morning, five people remain missing.

The four rescued passengers were transported to Stuart Airport via USCG helicopter and then taken to a local hospital by Martin County Fire Rescue (MCFR). MCFR reported that one individual sustained serious injuries, while the other three suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The USCG has not released details regarding the cause of the capsizing. The search for the missing individuals remains active, with USCG vessels and aircraft continuing to patrol the area.
Martin County Fire Rescue confirmed the transport of the rescued passengers, with one patient in serious condition.
The USCG is expected to release further updates as the search and investigation continue.
