HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A routine traffic stop in Dover has led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of over $50,000 in stolen silver coins, bars, and firearms.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a burglary on November 8th, where three firearms were reported stolen from a residence on Herndon Street. Detectives identified 34-year-old Justin Reeves as a suspect in the case.

On November 13th, the Targeted Crime Unit located Reeves driving in Dover and observed him committing a traffic violation. He was apprehended and arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
During a search of Reeves’ vehicle, deputies discovered heavy bags containing a large amount of collectible silver coins and bars. Further investigation revealed these items were stolen from a separate, unreported burglary in Hillsborough County. Detectives contacted the elderly victim, who was out of town during the burglary.
