Traffic Alert: Nightly Ramp Closure oOn Southbound I-275 In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Motorists traveling southbound on I-275 in St. Petersburg should be aware of nightly ramp closures scheduled for Tuesday, March 18th, and Wednesday, March 19th.

The southbound I-275 ramp to 28th Street South (Exit 21) will be closed nightly from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, weather permitting.

During these temporary closures, drivers will be detoured as follows:

  • Continue southbound on I-275.
  • Exit the interstate using Exit 19.
  • Turn east onto 22nd Avenue South.
  • Turn north onto 31st Street South.
  • Turn east onto 15th Avenue South.
  • Proceed toward 28th Street South.

Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will be in place to guide motorists through the detour. Drivers should expect delays and potential congestion during these nightly closures.

These closures are part of the ongoing I-275 concrete pavement repair project from 54th Avenue South to 5th Avenue South in Pinellas County. The project is expected to be completed in early 2026.
