TAMPA, Fla. – A tractor-trailer carrying a load of gravel overturned Tuesday, which closed a portion of US-301 in Tampa for hours.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer transporting a load of gravel, driven by a 47-year-old Spring Hill man, was traveling eastbound on Fowler Avenue.
At the intersection of US-301, the driver attempted to turn north and overturned onto its side as the vehicle was traveling too fast for the maneuver.

Troopers say the driver suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene.
The crash caused a load of gravel and diesel from the truck to spill onto the roadway.
The northbound lanes of US-301 were closed as crews worked to remove the gravel and clear the diesel spill. The roadway is now open.
