Frequent toll-road users in Florida saved about $470 million in a recently completed, year-long program that provided credits on their bills.
The Florida Department of Transportation said about 1.2 million Floridians benefited from the program, which provided 50 percent credits to motorists who made 35 or more toll-road trips a month.
Credits were issued monthly.

The program was approved during a special legislative session in December 2022, and the state shifted money from general revenue to the department to cover lost toll revenue. The program ended Sunday.
