Three individuals are facing charges in Argentina related to the death of former One Direction singer Liam Payne, who died on October 16th after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

The charges, which include “abandonment of a person before a death, supply and facilitation of narcotics,” stem from an investigation by the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office.

Payne, 31, was found to have alcohol, cocaine, and antidepressants in his system at the time of his death. Toxicology reports suggest he may have been in a state of semi- or total unconsciousness when he fell.

The Suspects:

  • Individual 1: Someone who allegedly spent significant time with Payne during his stay in Buenos Aires and is accused of supplying him with drugs.
  • Hotel Employee: Accused of providing Payne with cocaine on two occasions.
  • Suspected Drug Dealer: Believed to have supplied Payne with drugs on October 14th.

Investigation Details:

Authorities conducted a thorough investigation, reviewing over 800 hours of video footage and analyzing data from Payne’s cell phone. They believe Payne obtained drugs from multiple sources during his stay at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.

Two women who were with Payne in the hours before his death were interviewed but stated they did not witness him using drugs.

Payne had been open about his struggles with addiction and mental health. He had recently completed a treatment program and was reportedly six months sober at the time of his death.

This is a developing story, and it is unclear whether the suspects are currently in custody.
