MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Three individuals were arrested Thursday on Little Torch Key after a bullet fired from an AR-15 rifle entered a nearby residence while the occupants were inside.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Pirates Road around 4:00 PM regarding shots fired. The caller reported that a bullet had penetrated her home, shattering a window and a glass door in her upstairs bedroom.
She and her husband were in the bedroom with their dogs at the time of the incident, but thankfully, no one was injured.

While investigating the scene, deputies heard gunshots coming from Kings Cove Road. Upon investigation, they found three individuals – Robert Andrew Mayette, 51, Jessica Ellen Rene Hargrove, 25, and Nathan John David Charter-Kimberly, 24 – at the location. Charter-Kimberly was in possession of a Smith & Wesson AR-15 rifle and a handgun.
All three suspects admitted to shooting the rifle at a makeshift target range that was positioned facing Pirates Road.
They were subsequently arrested and charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm and culpable negligence.
