‘The View’ Host Sunny Hostin Gets Visibly Irritated As Joy Behar Criticizes Dem Infighting

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin became visibly irritated with her fellow panelist Joy Behar Wednesday as she criticized the Democrat Party for their heightened infighting.

Democrats have been in a disarray since Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, along with nine others in his party, supported the GOP funding bill to avert a government shutdown. Behar said the Democrats need to stop fighting with each other and instead unite together to fight against President Donald Trump’s agenda, prompting Hostin to say the party is in a “unified fight” against the Republican Party.

“I hate to make speeches. But my father [and] my uncles all fought in World War II so that we would not have a fascist in the White House, and this is what we’re getting right now. And I would almost cry today for these people, these [veterans] who are losing everything. Why don’t the Democrats go out there and march and stop fighting with each other? I’m sick of it,” Behar said.

Hostin then justified former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s criticisms of Schumer for voting in favor of the GOP funding bill to keep the government open.

“Well I don’t know, Joy, that they’re fighting with each other,” Hostin pushed back. “It’s a unified fight, that is the problem.”

“The fact that Nancy is out there criticizing Schumer, stop it already,” Behar said.

“You know why she’s criticizing him? Because he should have been fighting for that veteran. He should have been fighting for the people of America that are feeling the way they are feeling,” Hostin said. “The Americans that I’ve spoken to, people that approach me almost every single day say that they don’t feel like [the Democrats] are fighting for them. This is not about, well, [Schumer] had the chance to fight for them. Chuck Schumer caved to the GOP and got nothing!”

Hostin baselessly claimed that the Republican Party is going to cut funds for veterans and Social Security, all of which Trump has said will be protected.

Co-host Sara Haines jumped to Schumer’s defense by arguing that he “gave cover” to other Democrats who knew they would receive scrutiny for shutting the government down.

“He gave cover to the GOP to do whatever the hell they want to do!” Hostin said.

“Nobody’s fooling themselves. It’s a minority. [Democrats] don’t have the math. It’s just basic math, there are facts there, it’s not an opinion. They can’t avoid this and if they bent the knee just to show the public they were fighting, we would’ve ended up worse off,” Haines said.

Democrat lawmakers became enraged with Schumer for backing the funding bill, prompting Democrat Maryland Rep. Glenn Ivey becoming the first in his party to call for Schumer to step down from leadership Tuesday. Schumer said Tuesday that a shutdown would have allowed the Trump administration and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to make cuts to any program they chose without any pushback from the Democrats.

Pelosi said Tuesday that Schumer’s backing of the funding bill blocked Democrats from being able to fight against alleged cuts to Medicare and Social Security.

“I myself don’t give away anything for nothing,” Pelosi said during a news conference at a San Francisco children’s hospital. “I think that’s what happened the other day.”

Schumer postponed his book tour Monday to avoid protests by left-wing grassroots over his support for the bill.
