The Free Press will be reporting on sex felons living within a one-mile radius of college campuses and universities in a multiple-part series.
The Free Press reviewed official records for the number of sexual offenders and sexual predators residing within a one-mile radius of University of South Florida campuses and off-site instructional sites.
The first college whose statistics we reviewed was Hillsborough Community College, with thirteen campuses, offices, or other facilities. Today, we looked at USF.
Here are the campus findings of our review:
4202 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa: 22 total sex felons, including 18 sexual offenders and 4 sexual predators
Addresses housing two or more sex felons include 13000 Bruce B. Downs (James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital (temporary quarters); 2215 East 133rd Avenue; 2210 East 131st Avenue.
140 7th Avenue South, St. Petersburg: 60 total sex felons, including 55 sexual offenders and 5 sexual predators, 15 sex felons are transients.
Addresses housing two or more sex felons include Williams Park area, 711 3rd Avenue South, 200 4th Street North, and the 900 block of 15 Avenue South.
8350 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota: 4 total sex felons, including 3 sexual offenders and 1 sexual predator 1 of the sex felons is confined 0 listed transients There are no addresses housing 2 or more sex felons.
Tampa Bay area off-site instructional facilities include:
124 South Franklin Street, Tampa (Center of Advanced Medical Learning and Health Simulation): 13 total sex felons, including 10 sexual offenders and 3 sexual predators, 5 sex felons are transients

Transient locations include the southeastern corner of North Morgan Street and East Laurel Street, East Kennedy Boulevard and North Brush Street, East Polk Street and North Morgan Street, Bayshore Boulevard/Davis Boulevard, and South Magnolia Avenue at Horatio Street.
560 Channelside Drive (USF Health, South Tampa): 20 total sex felons, including 16 sexual offenders and 4 sexual predators, 4 sex felons are transients
Addresses housing 2 or more sex felons include 2006 Elmwood Avenue and 2007 Elmwood Avenue.
Transient locations include East Polk Street/North Morgan Street, East Kennedy Boulevard and North Brush Street, Bayshore Boulevard/Davis Boulevard, and the southeast corner of North Morgan Street and East Laurel Street.
1806 East Bearss Avenue, Tampa (Mort Elementary School): 32 total sex felons, including 27 sexual offenders and 5 sexual predators, 3 sex felons are transients.
Addresses housing 2 or more sex felons include 2212 Irene Street, 2502 Irene Street, and 15109 North 24th Street.
Transient locations include East Bearss Avenue/North Nebraska Avenue and East 140th Avenue/North 19th Street.
2920 North 40th Street, Tampa (Dr. Sam J. Horton Instructional Services Center): 49 total sex felons, including 42 sexual offenders and 7 sexual predators. 5 sex felons are transients.
Addresses housing 2 or more sex felons include 4011 East Columbus Drive, 3213 East 11th Avenue and 3611 East Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Transient locations include 50th Street North/10th Avenue East, North 49th Street/East Broadway Avenue, North 32nd Street/East 10th Avenue and 3120 East 10th Avenue in the fenced-in lot.
4240 35th Avenue South, St. Petersburg (Clam Bayou Marine Education Center): 12 total sex felons, all which are sexual offenders. 1 listed transient.
There are no listed addresses housing 2 or more sex felons. Transient location includes 34th Street South/28th Avenue South.
1100 Red Devil Way, Lakeland (Kathleen High School): 5 total sex felons, including 5 sexual offenders 0 sex felons are transients.

30649 Wells Road, Wesley Chapel (Thomas E. Weightman Middle School): 7 total sex felons, including 1 predator, 0 sex felons are transients. No addresses house 2 or more sex felons.
There are no sex felon transient locations. There were no listed sex felons for the Sarasota-Manatee Culinary Innovation Laboratory at Lakewood Ranch or the Sarasota-Manatee Science Labs at Mote Marine Laboratory.
