Police identified the suspect as Karmelo Anthony, who was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The victim was identified as Austin Metcalf, a student at Frisco Memorial High School.
According to KDFW-TV, Austin Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, stated that the incident stemmed from an argument over seating arrangements. Jeff Metcalf said Anthony became angry after Austin Metcalf told him he was sitting in an area designated for Memorial High School students, as the two attended different schools.
“He wound up stabbing him in the heart and killing him, all over someone sitting in the wrong spot at a track meet,” Jeff Metcalf told KDFW-TV.
