Texas Man Sentenced In Louisiana To 10 Years For Meth Distribution Conspiracy

A Texas man has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy that impacted Louisiana.

Leonel Gonzalez, 41, of Houston, pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine.

U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo handed down the sentence, which also includes five years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment fee.

According to court documents, Gonzalez supplied kilogram quantities of methamphetamine to a customer in Louisiana on five separate occasions between May and July of 2020. This customer then redistributed the drugs within the Eastern District of Louisiana.

The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case, highlighting the agency’s ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks operating across state lines.
