Texas Man Receives 10-Year Prison Sentence For Coercion, Enticement Of A Minor

Alejandro Zavala, 31, of Del Rio, Texas, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for engaging in sexual acts with a 15-year-old.

Court documents reveal that Zavala initiated contact with the minor on Snapchat and their conversations were often sexually explicit. On two separate occasions, Zavala engaged in sexual acts with the victim. The child was reported missing during one of these instances, leading to an investigation by the Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office.

Zavala was arrested by federal authorities in October 2021 and pleaded guilty in September 2022. The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rex Beasley.
