A 36-year-old Texas man is facing federal charges for allegedly targeting an individual with a series of arson attacks and the use of destructive devices.
Daniel Eduardo Rivera of McAllen was charged with arson and possession of a destructive device, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.
The criminal complaint alleges that Rivera has been targeting the victim since 2022, setting multiple fires to their residence and vehicles.

In November 2022, the McAllen Fire Department responded to two separate fires at the victim’s residence. The first fire originated in a storage shed, while the second engulfed the porch and spread to the home, causing significant damage. Authorities determined both fires to be arson and found a Molotov cocktail at the scene of the second fire.
The victim reported that Rivera had previously threatened to kill their family and burn down their house.
In May 2024, another fire incident linked to Rivera involved a vehicle fire in McAllen. A Molotov cocktail was allegedly used in an attempt to set the car ablaze.
