Texas Man Arrested For Attempting To Kill Infant Son With Gasoline

A 24-year-old Texas man, Edgar James Bridgemon, is facing attempted capital murder charges after allegedly giving his 4-month-old son gasoline to drink in an attempt to kill him.

Police were called to a home in Paris on Saturday, August 10th, around noon to assist EMS medics. Upon arrival, they were informed that Bridgemon had given his infant son gasoline. Officers witnessed Bridgemon attempting to flee the scene and apprehended him a block away.

Bridgemon reportedly confessed to giving the child gasoline in an attempt to kill him.

He was arrested and charged with attempted capital murder and evading arrest. He is currently being held on a $255,000 bond.

The infant was rushed to a local hospital and then transferred to a facility in Dallas for further treatment. The child’s current condition is unknown.
