A Texas delegate attending the Democratic National Convention in Chicago was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, a situation that the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) claims underscores the failure of gun control policies.
The 25-year-old delegate was accosted by two armed assailants, who stole his wallet and room keys before targeting another victim across the street.

The suspects, described as two black males dressed in black, carried out the robbery around 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
“This incident is a lesson for Democrats,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “Their push for disarming law-abiding citizens while promoting soft-on-crime policies has failed, and this robbery in Chicago, a city long under Democratic control, is proof.”
Gottlieb noted that the U.S. Secret Service had warned delegates to remove their badges when leaving the United Center due to multiple robbery attempts during the convention. He criticized Illinois Democrats for not recognizing non-resident carry permits, suggesting that if visitors to Chicago were allowed to carry firearms, such crimes might be deterred.
He also blamed Democratic policies for enabling repeat offenders to avoid jail and continue committing crimes, adding, “We’re glad no one was hurt, but this should signal to Democrats that their gun control and lenient crime policies are not working. It’s time to reconsider their approach.”
