HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man wanted by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee, for raping a child.
Luis Martinez Morado, 43, was arrested on an active arrest warrant issued by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office for multiple charges, including Aggravated Sexual Battery, which occurred between 2007 and 2011.
On October 18, 2023, HCSO received information from the U.S. Marshals Service’s Fugitive Task Force, which determined, through investigative means, that Morado had been attending a church and working at a restaurant in the Ruskin area.

On October 18, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., detectives positively identified Morado as the suspect for the out-of-state warrant and took him into custody.
“My heart goes out to the victim who endured years without the justice they rightfully deserved following the heinous actions of this individual,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I commend our detectives for their swift response to the information they received and their successful arrest of the offender. We’re grateful for the invaluable partnership with the U.S. Marshals, who collaborated with our detectives to apprehend this fugitive.”
Morado is being charged by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office with:
- Rape of a Child X7
- Aggravated Sexual Battery X3
