A Tennessee man, Alcides Roman, 65, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Kansas City, Kansas on charges of wire fraud and money laundering.
Roman, who operated through his company Remain In Control, is accused of defrauding investors out of more than $1 million.
According to court documents, Roman allegedly solicited investments in high-yield programs through his company under false pretenses.

He is accused of misappropriating these funds for personal gain and the benefit of others without the knowledge or consent of the investors.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is leading the investigation into this case. Roman made his initial court appearance in Tennessee and is scheduled to appear before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Kansas on August 9th. If convicted, he faces significant penalties for the alleged crimes.
