TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The City of Temple Terrace has selected a familiar face to lead its police department. Deputy Chief Rob Staley, a third-generation resident and veteran officer, has been named the next Chief of the Temple Terrace Police Department. He will officially assume the role on March 1st, 2025.
Chief Staley’s dedication to his community is evident in his long history of service. Starting at the young age of 14 with the City’s Police Explorers program, he has steadily risen through the ranks over the past two decades, gaining experience in patrol, undercover operations, criminal investigations, and leadership roles.

City Manager Carlos Baa praised Staley’s leadership, stating, “Rob Staley is an outstanding public servant and proud son of Temple Terrace who has made an incredibly positive impact on the Temple Terrace Police Department. The future will be very bright under his leadership.”
The incoming chief expressed gratitude for the support of his family, including his wife, Heather, and their two children, Maximus and Paige.
The City of Temple Terrace is inviting the community to attend Chief Staley’s swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for Monday, March 3rd, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at Temple Terrace City Hall.
