Largo Teenager, 13, Dies After Shooting In St. Petersburg; Police Seek Information

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A teenage boy from Largo has died following a shooting Saturday night in St. Petersburg, police confirmed in an update.

The victim has been identified as Jaden Hill, 13, of Largo. Authorities stated his family has been notified of his death.

The incident began shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday when St. Petersburg Police officers responded to reports of gunshots at a residence located at 2421 11th St. S. Upon arrival, they found Hill in the driveway with a gunshot wound.

He was immediately transported to a local hospital with injuries described as life-threatening. Despite medical efforts, Hill later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators believe the shots originated from an unknown vehicle. At this time, police have not released any description of the suspect vehicle or the individual(s) involved.

Detectives are investigating the case as a homicide.

ORIGINAL REPORT: St. Petersburg Police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred late Saturday night, leaving a teenage boy hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of 11th St. S. shortly after 11:00 p.m. following reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arriving at the scene, police located a teenage male victim in the driveway who had sustained at least one gunshot wound.

Paramedics provided immediate medical attention before transporting the teenager to a nearby hospital. Authorities have confirmed his injuries are considered life-threatening.

Detectives were called to the scene and have begun a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading up to the shooting. At this time, no further details regarding potential suspects or motives are being released, as the investigation is in its early stages.
