Teen Pool Party In Clearwater Erupts In Gunfire: 2 Girls Shot, Shooter At Large

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Police detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Estates of Countryside apartment complex Saturday night, leaving two teenage girls injured.

Officers and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to the complex, located at 2652 McMullen Booth Road, at approximately 9:45 p.m. after receiving multiple calls from residents reporting gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old female victim at the scene with gunshot wounds. She was transported to All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Shortly after, a 16-year-old female arrived at Mease Countryside Hospital with injuries also sustained in the shooting. Her injuries are also believed to be non-life-threatening.

Detectives have determined that a large gathering of juveniles and young adults was taking place at the apartment complex’s pool area when a dispute escalated into gunfire. Many individuals fled the scene before officers arrived.

The suspect remains at large.
