Teen Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Cass St. Bridge Crash; Investigation Underway

TAMPA, Fla. – A 17-year-old male pedestrian is hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the Cass St. Bridge in Tampa. The Tampa Police Department is currently investigating the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, April 2, 2024.

According to police, the pedestrian was struck by a black Mercedes. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Preliminary investigations suggest that neither speed nor impairment contributed to the crash.

The Cass St. Bridge was closed in both directions to allow for a thorough investigation but has since reopened.
