TAMPA, Fla. – A teenage murder suspect who escaped from a juvenile detention center in Tampa is back in custody after a brief but intense manhunt.
15-year-old Jahmir Moore was apprehended without incident Sunday evening, just hours after authorities discovered he had escaped from the Hillsborough Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
Moore was arrested on December 4th in connection with the death of 14-year-old Jevario Buie. His escape prompted a multi-agency search effort involving the Tampa Police Department and the US Marshals Task Force.

Let this be a reminder to those who think they can evade Tampa Police, they cannot, and they will be held accountable.”
Video footage from a nearby business showed Moore fleeing the detention center around 10:45 AM Sunday morning. He was apprehended shortly after 9:15 PM on West Keyes Avenue.
