Teen Dies After Shooting Himself On Upper Tampa Bay Trail

HILLSBOROUGH, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a juvenile.

According to investigators, at 11:13 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a call of an accidental shooting on the Upper Tampa Bay Trail in Tampa.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a juvenile with a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Through investigative means, detectives found that the teenager accidentally shot himself.  

At this time, deputies do not believe there is a threat to the community, and nothing about this incident appears criminal.
