TAMPA, Fla. – After a nearly decade-long hiatus, TEDx is making a triumphant return to Tampa, bringing its world-renowned platform for sharing ideas and inspiring change back to the city. Organized by local siblings Krishna and Harikrishna Patel, TEDxTampa promises to be a landmark event, showcasing the city’s talent and potential on a global stage.

The Patel siblings, who were instrumental in establishing the first Hindu temple in the Middle East, are passionate about fostering connection and transformation. They see TEDxTampa as an opportunity to bring that same spirit of unity and progress to their hometown.

The event, scheduled for May 2nd, 2025, will be held at the Tampa Museum of Art and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. It will feature a diverse lineup of speakers, including:

  • John D. Couris: CEO of Tampa General Hospital
  • Bawa Jain: UN Secretary General for World Religions
  • Tim DeKay: Actor, best known for his role in the television series White Collar

More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks, promising a dynamic and thought-provoking program.

TEDxTampa is more than just a series of talks. It’s a community-driven initiative, with over 30 local volunteers involved in its organization. The event will also feature a networking summit, providing opportunities for attendees to connect and collaborate.

This event is poised to elevate Tampa’s profile as a hub for innovation and thought leadership. All talks will be featured on TEDx’s official YouTube channel, which boasts over 40 million subscribers, giving Tampa’s ideas a global reach.

TEDxTampa is a celebration of Tampa’s talent, ambition, and potential. It’s an opportunity for the city to shine on a world stage and inspire positive change both locally and globally.
