APOLLO BEACH, Fla. – Earthquest Inc. will present its free-flying Bird of Prey Demonstration on Saturday, October 19, at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in Apollo Beach at the Suncoast Youth Conservation Center. This program is part of the Florida Birding and Nature Festival’s Nature Expo and is free and open to the public.
TECO’s Manatee Viewing Center provided funding to provide the Bird Performance at the Festival’s Nature Expo. Parents and children are encouraged to attend, as other child-education activities will also be offered.

This unique program offers an unparalleled opportunity for nature enthusiasts, families, and students to witness the majesty and prowess of these magnificent raptors up close. The demonstration will feature a diverse array of birds of prey, including majestic eagles, powerful hawks, and swift falcons, all showcased by Earthquest staff Steve Hoddy, an experienced wildlife educator.
This interactive event will provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the essential roles birds of prey play in our ecosystems, as well as the challenges they face in the wild. Through engaging presentations and live flight demonstrations, Earthquest aims to foster a greater appreciation for these incredible creatures and promote their conservation. Attendees will have the chance to learn about the unique adaptations and behaviors of each species, part of Earthquest’s mission to educate and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
