Tim Tebow Jersey

Tebow Vaults To The Top Of NFL Jersey Sales, As Sullen Kaepernick Still Sits On The Sidelines

Liberals are more than a little miffed that former University of Florida star Tim Tebow has been given a chance to make the NFL, while Colin Kaepernick, the ultrawealthy but grumpy Marxist leading the sports world’s Social Justice Warrior battalions, remains literally and figuratively on the sidelines.

But conservatives who relish Tebow’s comeback as a political point can thank Jacksonville Jaguars fans for pouring about a pound of salt on that open, woke wound.

As News4Jax.com reported, “One day back in the NFL and Tim Tebow has the best-selling jersey in the NFL.”

“The top five items on NFLShop.com are all Tebow’s No. 85 Jaguars jerseys,” the report continued. “Tebow signed a one-year contract with the Jaguars on Thursday morning, making his conversion from quarterback to tight end complete.”

“Men’s and women’s black Jaguars Tebow jerseys were listed for sale at $119.99 and held the top two spots in sales. Tebow 00 T-shirts were $34.99 and listed third and fourth in sales. Youth Tebow jerseys were $34.99 and fifth.”

Not bad for a guy who has not played since 2012, and is switching positions from quarterback, which he played while winning a Heisman Trophy and two national championships at UF, to tight end.

The spike in Tebow garb sales is reminiscent of the boost Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villaneuva received in 2017.

In the wake of then-President Donald Trump’s criticism of NFL players kneeling for the anthem, a left-wing movement launched by Kaepernick the prior season, teams were allowed to remain in their locker rooms for the National Anthem.

The Steelers agreed to do that before a September 2017 game, but somehow Villanueva would up alone outside the tunnel to the field and stood respectfully with his hand over his heart as the song played. The West Point grad, and Army Ranger who earned the Bronze Star for valor in combat in Afghanistan, said he didn’t intend to dismiss his teammates’ decision and added that he was “embarrassed” that he inadvertently wound up on the field by himself.

Nonetheless, the day after it happened, Villanueva’s jersey was the biggest seller among NFL garb, and he ended the season as the 30th most popular player in terms of jersey sales.

Tebow may not end up as popular Villanueva did for a moment. He may not land a gazillion-dollar contract from Nike, as Kaepernick did to be an SJW spokesman instead of an actual quarterback. He may not even make the Jaguars.

But for the moment, it’s good to see that NFL fans will respond affirmatively and reward an athlete who believes God, country, respect, and humility still matter.

  1. Hilarious article…. absolutely no prejudice against Kaepernick here. This so-called author(would never be a real journalist BTW) completely misses the mark on understanding what Kaepernick was kneeling for….just like vast majority of Conservative wacko-loons everywhere do too. It’s time to grow out of your racist, gun loving, Trump conspiracy laden shells folks…..
