The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has released six months of internal polling data regarding the union’s potential endorsement for the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
The data shows that former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden each garnered more support than Vice President Kamala Harris among Teamsters voters in key polls commissioned by the union.

Although the Teamsters have not yet endorsed a candidate, the union’s General Executive Board is expected to make an announcement on Wednesday.
“For the past year, the Teamsters Union has pledged to conduct the most inclusive, democratic, and transparent Presidential endorsement process in the history of our 121-year-old organization—and today we are delivering on that promise to our members,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “Our members are the union, and their voices and opinions must be at the forefront of everything the Teamsters do. Our final decision around a possible Presidential endorsement will not be made lightly, but you can be sure it will be driven directly by our diverse membership.”
Between April 9 and July 3, nearly 300 local Teamsters unions hosted Presidential town halls and conducted straw polls to gauge member preferences. These in-person votes took place before Biden withdrew from the race, with the polling data showing Biden leading with 44.3% support, compared to Trump’s 36.3%.
After Biden’s exit and the Republican National Convention, the union commissioned a national electronic poll, overseen by an independent third party. From July 24 to September 15, 59.6% of rank-and-file Teamsters voted for the union to endorse Trump, while 34% backed Harris.

In a final poll conducted by independent firm Lake Research Partners after the Democratic National Convention and recent Presidential debate, Teamsters members continued to favor Trump for endorsement, with 58% support compared to Harris’s 31%.
