TAMPA, Fla.- A Tampa woman faces DUI, drug, and resisting arrest charges in Citrus County.
According to investigators, Kearns, 31, from Tampa, was trespassing on a residential property in her vehicle on Thursday.
The arresting deputy stated that when he arrived at the location, he saw Kearns in the driver’s seat of her car with the engine running. When the deputy approached the vehicle, he saw Kearns reach behind herself with both arms, trying to conceal something.
The deputy reported Kearns was acting erratic, becoming angry, and crying on and off, refusing to exit the vehicle on multiple requests.
The arresting deputy broke the driver’s side window and was able to unlock the door to escort Kearns from the car, placing her in the deputies patrol car.
With the help of a K-9, investigators were alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. According to reports, the deputy proceeded back to his patrol car and found that Kearns had removed her clothing.
Kearns was taken to the Citrus County Jail and an alcohol test performed there, showed that Kearns was impaired.
