TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police officers arrested a local woman for animal cruelty charges after newborn puppies were found clinging to life in a dumpster.

The witness reported that at least two of the puppies were zipped up in plastic Ziploc-style bags.

The witness reported they took the puppies to the local Humane Society for emergency care where they later passed away. The Tampa Police Department was contacted, and an aggravated animal cruelty investigation began.

“It’s disturbing to see a case of animal abuse in our community,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “We will not tolerate this kind of behavior and will hold those accountable for their actions.”

City of Tampa video surveillance captured video of a suspect vehicle leading detectives to Angela Giudice-Burris. Giudice-Burris was arrested and charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.

Hillsborough County Animal Control also responded to the residence and removed two adult dogs from the property.
