Tampa Tragedy: Woman Found Dead After Southwick Drive Shooting

TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is actively investigating a homicide that occurred in Tampa on Friday night.

At approximately 9:34 p.m. on April 25, 2025, the HCSO Communications Center received a 911 call reporting shots fired in the vicinity of the 5300 block of Southwick Drive.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered an adult female victim inside a residence. The victim had sustained upper body trauma and was pronounced deceased at the location.

“This is a heartbreaking loss of life that has shaken our community,” stated Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our deputies and detectives are committed to uncovering the truth and holding the individual accountable for this violence.”

The Sheriff’s Office say that this is an isolated incident and there is currently no indication of any ongoing threat to the community.
