TAMPA, Fla. – The westbound travel lanes on State Road 60 (SR 60) will temporarily close between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Monday, October 7, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists will be redirected to the right side of the road to access westbound SR 60, SR 589/Veterans Expressway (North), and the Tampa International Airport ramp. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and remain alert for construction workers while passing through the work zone.

The temporary closure is required for crews to complete overhead bridge work as part of a $45.5 million project aimed at improving traffic flow.
The project includes the addition of one westbound SR 60 lane from the George J. Bean Parkway to the Courtney Campbell Causeway, and the construction of a new flyover ramp from westbound SR 60 to Independence Parkway near Tampa International Airport.
Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2025.
