TAMPA, Fla. – Motorists traveling in Tampa should be aware of a temporary ramp closure affecting access from westbound I-4 to northbound I-275.
The closure will occur nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday, March 30th, and Monday, March 31st, weather permitting.
To navigate around the work zone, drivers will need to take the following detour:
- Continue west on I-4
- Exit the interstate using Exit 45A (Downtown East/West)
- Keep right at the fork toward Downtown East
- Continue south on Orange Avenue
- Turn left onto Cass Street
- Turn left onto Cass Orange Connector
- Continue north to re-enter the interstate using the northbound I-275 entrance ramp

Drivers traveling through the area will be guided by advanced warning signs and electronic message boards. They are urged to exercise caution and remain alert for construction workers while driving through the work zone.
These overnight ramp closures are necessary to allow crews to perform maintenance activities related to the Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project.
