Tampa Traffic Alert: Water Main Break Forces Full Closure Of West San Jose Street

TAMPA, Fla. – West San Jose Street is currently closed between South Trask Street and South Hesperides Street due to an urgent water main break repair, the Tampa Water Department has announced.

The full road closure went into effect today, March 18, 2025, as crews work to repair the broken water main. Barricades and signs have been placed in the area to direct traffic flow. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and seek alternate routes.

The Tampa Water Department has indicated that modifications to the work may be necessary as the repair progresses.

The department anticipates completing the repairs and reopening West San Jose Street to normal traffic patterns by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025. However, the work schedule remains contingent upon weather conditions.
