TAMPA, Fla. – Commuters in South Tampa should prepare for significant traffic disruptions as the Tampa Water Department has initiated emergency repairs on a water main break. All lanes of South Howard Avenue are currently closed between West Palm Drive and West Stroud Avenue.
The closure, which began at 11:30 am today, is necessary to address the urgent water main issue. City officials have placed barricades and signage in the area to direct traffic around the affected zone. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

According to the Tampa Water Department, the repair work is expected to continue until 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. However, this timeline is subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen complications during the repair process.
